At BRTF we combine traditional timber framing skills and boat building expertise. We provide a unique combination of highly skilled trades people offering full marine and construction services. Our Team specializes in traditional timber frame joinery, traditional and modern boat and ship services along with complete rigging for modern and traditional sailing vessels.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:


• Minimum of 5 years experience

• Certification as a Boatbuilder/Shipwright is an asset

• Experience in building yachts is an asset

• Experience with repair of wood and fibre-glass reinforced polyester

• Experience working with materials such as wood, composites and metal

• Ability to install technical equipment

• Ability to fit out cabins, holds, engine rooms and wheel houses

• Experience and ability to lay up and launch boats

• Carry out various rigging assignments an asset

• Ability to work alone and unsupervised



• Minimum of 4 years experience

• NMMA/ABYC certified Master Technician

• Diploma in Marine Systems or equivalent; secondary school diploma

• Individual NMMA/ABYC certifications: Marine Diesel, Marine Systems, AC/DC Electrical

• NMEA Marine Basic Electronics Installer

• Conduct, supervise, monitor, and inspect mechanical installations relating to boatbuilding and refit projects

Prepare and interpret marine engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for electrical, power, and plumbing
components and machines

• Conduct tests and analyses of machines, components and materials

• Prepare standards and schedules and supervise/conduct mechanical maintenance programs

• Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules, and reports

• Prepare contract and tender documents when required

• Ability to design and install electrical power and plumbing systems in a marine environment

• Ability to work alone and unsupervised


• Minimum of 5 years experience

• Certificate from a recognized carpentry program an asset

• Ability to work alone and unsupervised



• Experience with various tools used in carpentry projects an asset

• Able to handle the physical demands of the position

• Ability to work unsupervised

• Keen, hardworking and willing to learn
